Mount a Windows Shared Folder in Linux from command line


$ gvfs-mount smb://username@hostname/shared-directory
Domain [WORKGROUP]: mydomain
Password:

This command mounts the shared directory at “/home/<USER>/.gvfs".
Unlike “mount” command “gvfs-mount” does not requires “root” or “sudo” access.
